How do cashews grow on trees?
The Cashews are fruits of the Anacardium occidentale tropical evergreen tree. Interestingly, cashew nut is not a fruit, but also grows on the exterior of the fruit, which is a swollen stem referred to as cashew apple. The edible seed, the cashew nut, is contained in the kidney shaped shell. These trees are used in the warm climate and they start giving nuts after 3 to 5 years of planting.
