Real Madrid vs Braga kick-off time

Date: November 8, 2023

Kick-off time: 8 pm GMT

Venue: Santiago Bernabeu

The game between Real Madrid and Braga will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday. Kick-off is at 8 pm GMT for fans in the UK.

Concerns arose when Jude Bellingham suffered a shoulder injury in the first half of Sunday's match against Rayo Vallecano. There's a possibility Bellingham might be rested in the midweek game.

Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois, and Aurelien Tchouameni won't be available on Wednesday. Dani Ceballos's muscular injury requires further assessment.

Braga's squad is fully fit, with no injured players. Victor Gomez, the Spain U21 left-back, overcame a muscular problem and played 65 minutes in the recent victory over Portimonense and is available for selection.

Real Madrid host Braga just a few days after the disappointing draw against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga. Los Blancos still have a perfect record in the Champions League and their comfortable lead in the group will allow coach Carlo Ancelotti to make some rotations if he wants to keep his players fresh and engaged for what’s ahead before the Christmas break.

Madrid should be the favorites to win this game and earn the three points even if Ancelotti does rotate the squad. Players like Brahim, Lucas Vazquez or Nacho could get some valuable minutes tonight and even Arda Güler could make his debut during the second half if the context of the game fits what he needs after spending three months sidelined with a meniscus injury which required surgery.

Los Blancos can confirm their place in the Round of 16 with a win over the Portuguese side in Madrid, as Ancelotti looks to balance La Liga games against their Champions League commitments this season.

Ancelotti's side geared up for this tie with a tepid 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano, as Braga won 6-1 at home to Portimonense in domestic action.

Ancelotti has confirmed Jude Bellingham faces a fitness test ahead of the game after suffering a shoulder injury against Rayo. However, with Real Madrid's knockout stage place almost confirmed, the England star could be rested to avoid aggravating the issue.

The home side have enjoyed a strong start to their continental campaign and are on the verge of securing a spot in the knockout stages. They beat Union Berlin 1-0 in their first group game, following that up with a 3-2 victory over Napoli before beating Braga 2-1 in the reverse fixture as Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham scored in either half.

Real Madrid sit atop the group table with nine points from an obtainable nine and only need a point to secure advancement to the last 16 of the competition.

Sporting Braga meanwhile suffered a 2-1 defeat to Napoli in their group opener before beating Union 3-2 on matchday two. They suffered a narrow defeat to the record champions last time out finding themselves two goals down before Alvaro Djalo scored a consolation goal.

Madrid are undefeated in their last eight games across all competitions and have lost just one of their 15 competitive outings this season. They have won five of their last six home matches and are overwhelming favorites for the midweek clash.

Braga's latest result ended a three-game winless streak and they will now be looking to build on that here. They have been solid on the road this season but could see defeat against significantly stronger opposition this week.
