Reception

The film received mixed reviews from critics. A reviewer from Indolink.com wrote "The movie is a remake of a Kannada movie which was inspired by Charlie Chaplin's City Lights. The movie is not bad but it is not great either. The movie has its moments but they are few and far between. The comedy track by Vadivelu and Senthil is good in parts but gets repetitive after a while. The songs by Ilayaraja are melodious but not very catchy. The performances by the lead actors are decent but nothing extraordinary. The climax is predictable and sentimental. Overall, the movie is a watchable fare for those who like sentimental dramas".
